課程規劃與目的 / Course Plan & Goals
本校實施英語適性教學,強化學生英語文能力與多元文化認知,期能培育出具跨域創新之人才。
英語教育中心致力於提升學生英語能力,課程兼具適性化與領域多樣化兩種屬性要求。本課程總學分數為8學分,其中4學分採適性同質教學模式,另4學分則提供多樣化領域選讀課程。
本類課程學生需修讀4學分。課程分為《初級英文》、《中級英文》、《中高級英文》及《進階英文》等,教材深度對照CEFR等級,分別為A2、B1、B2、B2+、C1等級數,提供不同英文級數的學生修讀。
其中《初級英文》、《中級英文》和《中高級英文》課程由英語教育中心負責開設(科號LANG),而《進階英文》課程由外語系負責開設(科號FL)。
本類課程學生需修讀4學分。考量本校多元專業領域對英文學習需求及英語能力要求之差異,此類課程除中心開設之《選讀英文》外,外語系及英教系亦開設相關可認抵選讀英文之多樣化課程(課程備註欄標記「非外語系英教系同學可作為選讀英文學分」),希望能符應本校不同系所學生需求,讓其能具備所屬專業領域所需的英語文能力,培養他們成為跨域創新之人才。
Course Plan & Goals
NTHU implements an adaptive approach to teaching and learning. The Center for English Education is committed to improving students' English competence and offers courses to strengthen students’ English skills, hoping to cultivate professionals with a cross-domain innovative leadership.
Required English Credits at NTHU
For undergraduates, eight credits must be taken. Four credits adopt the appropriate and homogeneous teaching mode, and the other four credits provide elective English courses in a wide variety of fields. The curriculum features adaptability and diversification.
Type A Courses (Required Adaptive Courses)
Students are required to take 4 credits in Type A. Students are divided into five levels, each with different course requirements. Each level of Type A is equivalent to several CEFR levels (A2, B1, B2, C1), providing different teaching materials, course content and evaluation methods for different learning needs.
Elementary (A2), Intermediate (B1), and Upper-intermediate (B2 & B2+) courses are offered by the Center for English Education (Course No.: LANG). Advanced (C1) courses are offered by the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature (Course No.: FL).
Type B Courses (Diversified Elective Courses)
Students are required to take 4 credits in Type B. Taking different needs and proficiency in English learning into account, the center provides a wide diversity of elective courses in different professional fields.
The courses are adapted to meet the needs of students from different departments at NTHU, allowing them to become cross-domain innovative leadership talents.
